Hi Matjaz and welcome!!!!
I am so happy to have you here! :yeah:

Congratz for the Saltuarius, above all for the eggs! Let's hope to see babies soon!
Will you be in Nirm on 26 october in Busto Arsizio? I hope to see you there! ^^

Hi!
Thanks for the welcome. :D

Those eggs were my second clutch last year (the first one was infertile), so they already hatched, producing some nice F2 babies (first baby photo - young female).
I actually had quite a nice success with this species in 2007 and 2008.

They are definitely one of the most interesting and impressive gecko species in captivity today and one of my personal favorites.

Yes, I'm coming to NIRM on the 26th.

Regards, Matjaz

ahh ok, thank you for the clarification!
I hope you will share with us other pics and experiences of your breeding (above all of chondro and agricolae/vieillardii that i love! )!

See you in Nirm! :drunk:

Yes, sure, I'll post some more photos of my other geckos including Eurydactylodes sp. and others as time allows.

Marcello, I'll send you a pm soon. I need to ask you something.

About wyberba setup.
The most important thing for keeping Saltuarius is, to provide them with enough narrow spaces for sleeping and hiding, so they feel secure.
As heavy flat stones are obviously too dangerous for the animals, natural and pressed cork works best + some thick cork branches for climbing.

As you can (kind of) see in the photo of my terrarium for adults, I have three long semi circular pieces of cork stacked up together vertically, so they have a narrow, few cm wide space between each of them.
The geckos always sleep between the cork during the day.

For babies I use pieces of natural and pressed cork stacked together to form narrow crevices as well.

I'll see you all soon.

Many thanks for you interesting post, Matjaz! At the moment I don't want to keep others arboreal geckos, but when I'll change my idea, the choise will be an aussie leaf-tail gecko!

See you next week!

(I've PMed you) ;)

My Italian is pretty much non-existent.

But, if this was translated right......
The plant is Ficus sp. I can't remember the exact species name at the moment, but it's a pretty common and cheap plant to find in garden centers these days.

I've chosen it for my main wyberba terrarium, because it's somewhat similar to Eucalyptus, which grows in the natural habitat of S. wyberba.

Most of the Ficus trees do quite well in terrariums.

I translated it now, sorry for late!
Anyway, Matjaz you understood it well! :yeah:

I am afraid of put real plants in my vivs cause i fear the parasites, i buy a lot of beautiful plants (bromelias, tillandsia..) but at the end i don't able to put them in the vivs.. :sgrunf:

So i use plastic plants. :macaz:
